Prep time: 5 MCook time: 15 MTotal time: 20 M

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup coarse sea salt
  • ¼ cup fresh purple basil
  • ¼ cup fresh classic basil
  • 1 lemon, zested

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 225 degrees Fahrenheit.
  2. Place all ingredients into a food processor. Pulse until all basil leaves are finely chopped and blended with salt.
  3. Spread salt out evenly onto baking sheet and place in oven for 15 minutes, or until salt is completely dried. Remove from oven and use a spatula to break salt apart and crumble large pieces.
  4. Store in airtight container and use to top off your favorite dishes.

Notes:

• The flavor of the salt will be best in airtight container for about three months. If kept in fridge it will keep well for about six months. • The drying time in the oven will vary depending on how wet your salt is. Make sure that your salt is completely dried before packing in airtight container.
